Had unprotected sex? Get the morning after pill from our 7 days a week emergency contraception service in Islington
Only available in Store
If you have had unprotected sex in the last 72 hours, your contraception failed or condom split, taking emergency contraception (morning after pill) can reduce your chances of getting pregnant. The sooner you take the emergency pill, the more effective it is at reducing unwanted pregnancy. If taken within 24 hours of unprotected sex, the pill will prevent up to 95% of unwanted pregnancies.
The morning after pill is only available to over 16s. For under 16s, we may be able to provide emergency contraception under certain NHS arrangements.
The emergency contraception we use as standard is Levenolle 1.5mg. This tablet is only suitable for the first 72 hours after you had unprotected sex.
After 72 hours (3 days) you will not be suitable for the Levenolle pill and will be given ellaOne emergency pill instead.
You will not be suitable for these tablets if you are allergic to any of the ingredients, though you can discuss this with our Pharmacist.
The morning after pill is not free unless you have a NHS prescription from your doctor or family planning clinic.
Our emergency contraceptive service is available at the pharmacy in Islington after a free confidential consultation with our trained pharmacist.
